- “ This is a great workshop! ...The instructor, Raúl, really encourages us to explore our own artistic impulses, while offering constructive guidance on technique and concept based on his extensive knowledge of various art styles. Each session, I feel I learn a great deal, and am working toward a body of work I can be proud of. Thanks for the guidance and encouragement! ”

Look at the top of the page for the video.
Join us at Eastover Estate & Eco-Village, Lenox, a holistic healing center for Yoga, Meditation, Tai-chi, Qi-gong, and practice the traditional art of sketching nature. Just as mystics have sought meditative peace in the wood’s deep serenity, the natural world has also inspired artists of all cultures. They have applied their artistic skills to capture it with the techniques of sketching. The act of sketching requires concentration. Over time with skill, practice, and dedication, sketching can develop into a contemplative art. The artist is present in the here & now of the natural world and engaged with its artistic expression on paper. We will explore Eastover’s lovely surrounding woods to capture nature’s art by sketching with graphite, charcoal, or pastel.
The workshop is open to all levels, from rank beginners to advanced students and practicing artists looking to create and share their work in community.… Learn, create, and contemplate in “The Art of Nature” workshop at Eastover Estate.

You may be interested in drawing and painting, as both an experienced artist
or as some one just starting out on the artistic path.
...If you are a beginner, the artist -instructor will start you off on the fundamentals of drawing by creating your own still-life of objects to draw. For intermediate and advanced emerging artists, we work with what you are interested in creating, so that you can develop your own vision and style. Our workshops are suited to all levels of skill and our philosophy stresses "personal vision", as well as learning the science and craft of art.
- “ Hi friends !! To me , The Chelsea Drawing & Painting Workshops is one of its kind in Manhattan and I would say quite rare. The participants at the workshop are free to express their art and artistic abilities; with no no undue pressure ( or competition ). It is a free, open environment which brings together artists working in different styles, medium, size and concepts. The venue is the working studio of artist Raul Santiago Sebazco, and so the participants get the real experience of working in a 'live' studio. !!!! ”
— Krish S. on Jul 6, 2014.
"I have been a regular participant in the Workshop, Raul, the instructor has skillfully individualized his teaching so that we have all been able to work on different projects simultaneously. He is an extremely supportive teacher who focuses on people?s strengths and is able to help them refine and develop their own creativity. While we are working, inspiration might come from a still life Raul has set up in advance, from the various drawings or paintings around the room that were done by other students or Raul, or from the music he plays while we work. After the hands-on portion of the evening, we usually watch a film about an artist and/or his work which is followed by a very stimulating discussion."

“ Raul's workshop is both extremly educational and a blissfully relaxing experience. You can either bring a piece you are working on, or begin a still life there with a plethora of curious objects to chose from as subjects. Each time I go, I get all of my questions answered and more. As an added bonus, if you speak Spanish or French, Raul is fluent in both and can instruct you in your language of choice. Five stars! ”

Below is a video on the workshop:
- “ I decided to try Raul's Renaissance Workshop a year ago and found to be a real inspiration. Since then I've painted more than 60 abstract paintings, sold several of them and I'm on my way to an art career. Raul combines instruction on art with history of art and even provides tips on the business of art. I highly recommend giving it a try! It's a great way to spend an evening, meet new friends and learn more about art...and about yourself! ”
— Bruce M. on Oct 6, 2015.
- “ The Artist -Instructor, Raul, attends to each student personally as per their needs and helps them to enhance the artistic compositions, without being overly instructive. The atmosphere and ambience at the workshop is mature, definitely 'full of art & painting' with the added elements of good conversation, good music and positive energy. In addition to honing their artistic skills, Raul also shares his rich knowledge of art history and techniques with the group. All put together, a great Art Workshop !!!! ”
